In this episode of Curry Café, hosts Ray Gary and Rick McNamer speak with Vietnam War combat veteran Hank Cunningham about automatic Selective Service registration and military conscription. Drawing from their firsthand experiences as combat medics in Vietnam, Cunningham and Gary recount the inevitability of the Vietnam War era draft, harrowing firefights, and the deep human toll of combat. Reflecting on enduring physical and psychological trauma, both veterans strongly oppose reinstating an involuntary draft for future generations.

We encourage anyone with differing views to participate in future Curry Café discussions. If you would like to join the panel, email contact@kciw.org or call 541-661-4098.
