In May of 2015, a new tax measure will be on your ballot if you live in the City of Brookings. This measure calls for a 3 year, 4 cent per gallon fuel tax on gasoline, to be used exclusively on the streets of Brookings, to repair damage, bring sidewalks up to code, and deal with major events like slides and sink holes.
In this program, host Candice Michel talks with Mayor Ron Hedenskog and Councilor Kelly McClain about the ramifications of this measure, what it will cost the typical driver, and the impact on Brookings residents if the measure fails.
