Curry County‘s Public Health Department will soon be in the hands of the state. During a special meeting on April 16, 2021, The County Board of Commissioners voted to transfer the local Health Authority to the Oregon Health Authority at the earliest convenience. Commissioner Christopher Paasch was the lone no vote on the resolution and says he believes the Board acted too quickly on the matter.
