KCIW’s Advisory Board’s newest member is Alyssa Babin, founder and Executive Director of a nonprofit called Wild and Scenic Rivers.

With much enthusiasm about environmental issues, Community Conversations show host Connie Hunter talk with Alyssa about her lover for our beautiful natural environment and her work dedicated to nurturing relationships, understanding local values, articulating threats, and presenting solutions for conservation efforts on the Wild Rivers Coast.
One of Alyssa’s environmental awareness initiatives is the upcoming Wild and Scenic Film Festival, which will take place at the Port of Brookings Harbor Kite Field on Saturday, May 28th, with a mingle starting time beginning at 7:00 PM and films starting at 8:00 PM. Tickets are $10 and can be purchased on-line at bpt.me/2549565. Proceeds will benefit Wild and Scenic Rivers.
Beyond her extensive knowledge of environmental issues and advocacy, Alyssa shares a bit about her work with the Curry County League of Women Voters where she serves as Vice President.
