Did you know that Disc Golf is one of the fastest growing sports in America? And did you know that the Brookings-Harbor area is poised to become a disc golf Mecca.
In this edition of Community Organizer Shane Stephens and Ian Hannum from The Southern Oregon Disc Golf Association talk with Scott Clapson about the growing disc golf community on the Wild Rivers Coast. They talk about the fun, recreation, and community building this sport provides and the three new courses in our area at McVay Rock State Park, Azalea Park, and Salmon Run Golf Course.
The Southern Oregon Disc Golf Association is a non-profit organization started in 2014. Based in Brookings, Oregon, their goal is to help build disc golf courses through direct action and to educate those new to the sport in the Southern Oregon/Northern California area. They’re able to do these things thanks to the generous support of the City of Brookings, local businesses and private individuals.
