This episode of Curry Café hosts Ray Gary and Rick McNamer speak with retired Lutheran pastor Jim Abbott about the complex intersection of religion, politics, and history. Abbott reflects on denominational divisions, the constitutional separation of church and state, and progressive Christian viewpoints. Emphasizing community and mutual responsibility, he argues that while Christians must engage civically and hold authorities accountable, faith should promote compassion rather than fear.
We encourage anyone with differing views to participate in future Curry Café discussions. If you would like to join the panel, email contact@kciw.org or call 541-661-4098.
