In this edition of Community Organizer, Roger Gilbert, one of the founders of the Community Kitchens in Brookings, Oregon, talks with community organizer Scott Clapson about this seven-day-a-week nutritious free meal network.
Roger and Scott talk about how this program relies on the generous support of local volunteers and donations of food and money from the community, and how the Community Kitchens aren’t soup kitchens, but a community coming together to provide those in need with nutritions complete meals in a positive, welcoming, environment.
We’re lucky to have a community with so many people willing come together to provide full meals every day of the week. Thank you to all of the Community Kitchen volunteers and the churches that host the spaces. We appreciate you all.
Host: Scott Clapson, Producer: Scott Clapson
