LauRose Felicity
In this episode of Interfaith Forum Scott Clapson sits down with LauRose Felicity to talk about Kwanzaa, a secular holiday now celebrating it’s 50th year.
Kwanzaa is celebrated from December 26 through January 1. It was conceived as an African-American holiday by Dr. Maulana Karenga in 1966 as part of the Civil Rights Movement. The Seven Principles of Kwanzaa have to do with hope, resistance, unity, togetherness, and community.
LauRose shares her experience celebrating Kwanzaa with her family for over two decades and using the principles of Kwanzaa in her work as an children’s educator.
In solidarity. Keep hope alive. Joyful Kwanzaa!
