City council should have never overturned the planning commission! This is a residential neighborhood! Every single home owner in Dawson tract signed against this with the exception of 2 people
Why do you have a planning commission? They voted no to this development and the city council over turned it? 181 people in the Dawson Tract said no, only 2 homes didn’t sign the petition, 1 is the city planner and 1 was a city councilman.
I truly appreciate this conversation, Jake & Candice, and LOVE that you’re both willing to discuss even the more controversial subjects – like the two demonstrations being planned for Labor Day. I agree with you both – the two demonstrations have the potential to get ugly, and for that reason, I will not be there either. In fact, I will say a special prayer tomorrow that everyone stays safe…
Thank you, KCIW, for taking the risk the air this program. Please keep it going, because we really need this sort of thing to help heal our community.

Thanks for listening, Maria, and taking the time to comment. Both Jake and I are hoping that these conversations inspire others to try building some bridges of their own!
I’ve listened for over 23min. And I’m still waiting to find out what you’re discussing, specifically!?
Gotta go, you lost me.
What is the business or building that the neighbors don’t want going in?
Sorry, Kellie. It’s a residential care facility that’s planned for the Dawson Tract area.
