I truly appreciate your conversations. I tend to want to ask our leaders tougher questions, so I’m not being critical of your work. I’m glad you asked Jake about a community safety PLAN, but apologized for it. A mayor should not assume we are prepared and leave it all to County Emergence Management, should he? The occupants of this county are generally complacent and my experiences with EM revealed residents will WAIT to be personally notified or escorted to safety. It seems we might start those more serious discussions, do you agree? I am also thinking of the reaction to the Election coming up. In the 20+ years of my residency here, the mayors have been very low profile and things are definitely changing here as everywhere.
Thanks, Karin, both for listening and taking the time to comment. We can definitely follow up on some of this in our next conversation. I’m always cognizant of the fact that relationship is what allows us to have these talks at all, and I’m mindful that confrontation is seldom productive, so I tend to tread lightly. But, those are valid observations and questions, so we’ll take a shot at it!
