Discussion at Brookings Café is a potpourri of topics around a table where anybody can join in the discussion. This show represents a place where the community of Brookings and the surrounding areas can discuss what concerns us as coastal residents.
Episode 4 is about the issue of tree removal at Azalea Park. The City of Brookings had proposed clear cutting the grove of trees behind the band shell and the grove just east of Kid Town. After a large public outcry the city hired an arborist from Portland who said that only 6 to 9 trees needed to be removed. He said that the park trees were, basically, in good health.
The city is now assessing the arborist’s report and trying to gage public opinion. In this discussion we talk about both.
Join six concerned citizens in this spirited discussion on Azalea Park and the fate of its beautiful trees.
Brookings Café … a discussion about what’s important to you.
