Margie House from the Curry County 4-H and Oregon State University Extension in Gold Beach talks with The Community Organizer host Scott Clapson about the 4-H Commotion by the Ocean event on Saturday, July 25, at the Curry County Fairgrounds.
In this program Margie and Scott discuss this years 4-H exhibits, current 4-H programs, and plans for next year.
This community event is a fun filled day in which organizations from around Curry County host booths with hands-on activities for kids both old and young! There will be everything from chalk art to learning how to build raised beds and make your own gummy worms. Entrance is free and activities will take place between 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM on Saturday, July 25.
The Junior Livestock Auction will be taking place on Saturday, July 25 as well. This year the auction will feature sheep, swine, and steer, all raised by local Curry County 4-H Members. The event will kick off with a BBQ at 12:00 PM sponsored by the Junior Livestock Auction Committee. BBQ is free for bidders. The auction will begin promptly at 1:00 PM.
4-H makes a difference in the lives of the youth in Curry County, and the program operates because of generous volunteers.
