These events occur regularly on a weekly or monthly basis, or are available throughout a longer period.

  • Mondays:
    • Qi Gong for Health & Vitality: A free class with licensed instructor Linnie at 5:30 PM, where all are welcome and donations are appreciated.
    • Coastline Dance: Absolute beginner class at 10:30 AM, beginner at 11:00 AM, and intermediate at Noon at Brookings Elks (800 Elks Drive) with a $2 donation.
    • Cascadia Pickleball Zone: An hour of Pickleball Yoga at 11:00 AM.
    • Brookings Harbor Boy Scouts of America: Troop 32 and Troop 4032 meet at Scout Hall (414 Azalea Park Road) from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM on non-holidays, and they are seeking new Scouts and adult volunteers.
    • Community Kitchen serves lunch at St. Timothy’s from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.
  • Tuesdays:
    • Chetco Library Storytime: Stories, songs, and games for young children at 10:30 AM.
    • Chetco Library Tween Club: Youth ages 10-13 are welcome to hang out and explore new interests at 3:30 PM.
    • Coastline Dance: Absolute beginner class at 10:30 AM, beginner at 11:00 AM, and intermediate at Noon at Crescent City Elks (359 H Street) with a $2 donation.
    • Community Kitchen serves lunch at St. Timothy’s from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.
    • Game Night At The Whimsical Griffin: Magic the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, and board games at 615 Chetco Ave from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
    • Coastal Home Health & Hospice Grief Support Groups: Meets at 585 5th St. on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 3:00 PM, free of charge and open to the general public.
  • Wednesdays:

    • Chetco Library Afterschool Program: Drop-in activities for school-aged kids from 1:30 PM – 4:00 PM.
    • KCIW Soapbox Series: The studio is open from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM for the public to record a two-minute message to air on KCIW.
    • Legends Arcade Trading Card Game Night: Sling spells and summon monsters on the first Wednesday of the month from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
    • Coastline Dance: Absolute beginner class at 10:30 AM, beginner at 11:00 AM, and intermediate at Noon at Brookings Elks.
    • Memory Café Curry: An informal social gathering for older adults living with memory loss and their care partners on the third Wednesday of every month from 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM at Curry Public Library.
  • Thursdays:
    • Chetco Library Rowdy Creek String Band: A friendly open rehearsal for acoustic string instrument players from 10:00 AM – Noon.
    • Coastline Dance: Absolute beginner class at 10:30 AM, beginner at 11:00 AM, and intermediate at Noon at Crescent City Elks.
    • Community Kitchen serves lunch at the Presbyterian Church from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.
    • Chetco Library Checkmate Corner: A weekly chess club for players of all ages and skill levels from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM.
    • Monarch Gardens Dementia Support Group: A compassionate space to process emotions every 3rd Thursday at 3:00 PM.
    • Chetco Library Easy Flow Yoga: Free class at 5:30 PM for those who can comfortably get up and down from the floor.
    • Cascadia Pickleball Zone: An hour of Pickleball Yoga at 6:15 PM.
  • Fridays:
    • Cascadia Pickleball Zone: An hour of Pickleball Yoga at 10:15 AM.
    • Chetco Library Threads, Hooks, & Needles: A fiber arts club for knitters, sewers, and more at 10:30 AM.
    • Community Kitchen serves lunch at the Lutheran Church from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.
    • Creative Café: A free monthly art event for adults and teens to explore a new medium from 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM on the third Friday of each month.
    • Game Night At The Whimsical Griffin: Magic the Gathering, Dungeons and Dragons, and board games from 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM.
  • Saturdays:
    • Chetco Library Saturday Storytime: Stories, songs, and games for young children at 10:30 AM.
    • Chetco Library Saturday Shuffle: Play and trade Pokémon cards with guidance from an experienced volunteer at 1:00 PM.
    • Chetco Library Annex Teens Teach Tech: Get help with devices from trained Cyber-Senior Technology Mentors on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM.
    • Queers & Allies Brookings Get Together: Hosted by Southern Oregon Coast Pride for ages 9-19 on the 3rd Saturday of the month from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM in the Chetco Library Forest Room.
    • Cascadia Pickleball Zone: An hour of Pickleball Yoga, check the schedule for times.
    • Community Kitchen serves lunch at St. Timothy’s on the 1st, 3rd, and 5th Saturdays from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.
    • Community Kitchen serves lunch at the Church of the Nazarene on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays from 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM.
  • Sundays:
    • Community Kitchen serves dinner at St. Timothy’s from 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM.

    • Meals On Wheels Volunteers Needed: Volunteers are needed to deliver hot meals to homebound seniors via the Chetco Activity Center.
    • American Red Cross Curry County Blood Drives: The need for blood donations is constant and critical, and appointments can be made online or by phone.

One-Time Events

These events occur on specific dates.

  • Wednesday, March 11:
    • Bookworm Buddies Club: Geared toward 2nd through 5th graders, the group will discuss Baby-Sitters Little Sister: Karen’s Witch at 4:00 PM.
  • Thursday, March 12:
    • A Day at the Planetarium: A mobile planetarium is taking over the library from 1:00 PM – 7:00 PM, and registration is required for each show.
  • Friday, March 13:
    • SWOCC Curry Campus Planetarium: The portable planetarium will feature “Magnetism” at 9:00 AM, 10:00 AM, 11:00 AM, and 12:00 PM.
    • Celebrate “Pi Day” at SWOCC Curry Campus: Dr. Marilyn Hart will lead hands-on activities, games, and a digit-reciting contest starting at 12:30 PM, with pie and ice cream provided.
    • Live Music: Gabriel Casas performs at Chetco Brewing from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
    • Live Music: Troy & Vince perform at Misty Mountain Brewing from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM.
