- Chetco Public Library presents Beyond 250: Living History in Brookings-Harbor: Now seeking storytellers for a local oral history project featuring anyone who has ever called Brookings-Harbor home, past or present. To sign up for an interview, call 541-469-7738.
- National Library Card Signup Month: Anyone visiting the Chetco Library throughout September to sign up for a card or update account information receives a free ice cream, popsicle, recorder, or harmonica.
- Ride The Cyclone: Teen Edition: Presented by Chetco Pelican Players at the Chetco Pelican Playhouse (1240 Chetco Ave., Brookings). Running now through October 4, with performances at 7:00 PM Fridays and Saturdays, and 2:00 PM Sundays. Directed by Aiden Lile and Sarah Overstreet, with vocal coaching by Anne Huebert, and music, book & lyrics by Jacob Richmond and Brooke Maxwell. Tickets are $15 for adults and $7 for students (call 541-469-1857 or visit chetcopp.booktix.com).
- The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) [revised] [again]: Presented by Threepenny Theater Co. at the Old Performing Arts Center Building (97900 Shopping Center Avenue, Harbor, above the DMV) from October 2 through October 11. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 PM and Sundays at 2:00 PM (doors open 30 minutes prior). Tickets are $17 with discounts for students, seniors, and veterans (visit threepennytheater.com or call 541-373-0534). Special “Freepenny Friday” pay-what-you-can performance on October 9.
- One-Act Festival: Presented by Ellensburg Theater Co. at the Rogue Playhouse (94196 Moore St., Gold Beach) from October 2 through October 18.
