Highlights for this episode include an interview of local photographer and artist Kat Wiles regarding her participation in a local Photo Voice project about substance abuse. Ms. Wiles also provides valuable advice for young artists seeking to express themselves artistically through photography.
We are also joined by BHHS Robotics Team 4110 Deep Space Niners Electronics Captain Ethan Warner. Mr. Warner tells us about the team’s 2nd place win at the recent Clackamas Academy of Industrial Science competition event. He tells us more about their bot, nicknamed the ‘Crooked Croc’ and it’s capabilities, as well as what the team plans to do next!
Brookings-Harbor School District Athletics and Activities Director Buell Gonzales Jr. stops by to tell us about upcoming athletics events in the district, barring any inclement weather of course.
In honor of National Poetry Month, we read selections of original poetry by host Miranda Wolfers. Look forward to hearing more poetry on further editions of Bruin News this month!

Welcome back to Powerful Poetry! In this program, we explore poetry and prose with Dr. Michelle Mitchell-Foust and her students at the Brookings-Harbor High School. Dr. Foust is an accomplished poet, author, Pulitzer Prize nominee, and teacher of math, drama, and creative writing at the Brookings-Harbor High School. In this new program, Powerful Poetry, we will be exploring poetry and prose with Dr. Michelle Mitchell-Foust and students and alumni of the Brookings-Harbor High School.
