KCIW is pleased to present the third episode in the Story Time series Nine O’Clock Horses, written and read by Angela Ewing.
At a steady walking pace, a horse can move approximately 40 times as much weight in a barge as it would with a cart. It was this efficiency that inspired the development of the canal system throughout Great Britain and Europe.
This episode continues the compelling story of growing up in England during and after the the Second World War. It’s based in part on Angela’s own family and her mother’s fight for sanity during the German bombing campaign and the threat of impending invasion.
