This week’s Curry Café focuses on the aftermath of the recall election in Brookings. The Mayor and two City Councilors were recalled by nearly a 70/30 percentage split in the recent special election in Curry County. The voters were expecting another special election in a few weeks to vote for replacements for these important positions, as called for in the Brookings City Charter. What they got instead were a couple of resignations and an appointment. Voters are frustrated by this lack of transparency. Listen in to get the view from inside the recall and its aftermath.
Host: Ray Gary; Guest: Former City Councilor Dennis Triglia, Robert “Silky” O’Sullivan, Candice Michel

Thank you for this excellent discussion regarding the Brookings recall election!
Very thorough and clearly explained – what has happened, where we are and the beginnings of possible next steps.
It is so helpful that the discussion highlighted the far ranging support in various segments of the community for the recall.
The discussion presented to the listeners aspects of this whole process that we were not familiar with. The more Brookings residents that hear this the better.
I’d like to suggest that KCIW run this weekly – with updates – until the issues are resolved.
Thank you!
