Bruce Ellis spent St. Patrick’s Day reveling with his grandson, and he’s ready to bring listeners the latest information about upcoming activities and events in Brookings-Harbor, Curry County, and beyond.

Akropolis Reed Quintet

Bruce begins with his regular weekly update on the local music scene, including a performance by the Akropolis Reed Quintet on Sunday, March 26 at the Brookings Seventh Day Adventist Church. On March 31, Frankie C. will play a live set at the Veteran’s Memorial Hall to commemorate the anniversary of the Vietnam War. For those planning their vacations later in the year, Bruce also has updates on the Pirates of the Pacific Festival, the Slam’n Salmon Derby, and plans for a Bacon Fest in the summertime.

April is teeming with local fundraisers and entertainment! The Chetco Grange will hold a Meals on Wheels fundraiser dance on April 1, and St. Timothy’s Episcopal Church will host a bargain basement sale on April 7 and 8. In entertainment, the Chetco Pelican Players is preparing to present Charley’s Aunt, a fast-paced British farce. Set in the height of Victorian England, Charley’s Aunt premiers at the Chetco Playhouse on April 7 and will run for three weekends. Playgoers are advised that there will be no performance on Easter Sunday.

Other upcoming events include a 80’s party at the 101 Bar and Grill, wine discussion events at Sporthaven Marina Bar and Grill, the final weekend of Man the Ship at Lighthouse Repertory Theater… and much, much more!

So sit back and – as Bruce puts it – let your ears do the walking.
