Bruce Ellis spent a evening of side-splitting humor at the KCIW Old Time Radio fundraiser, and he’s ready to bring listeners the latest information about upcoming activities and events in Brookings-Harbor, Curry County, and beyond.

Bruce begins with his regular weekly update on the local entertainment and music scene. The Summer Concerts in the Park series at Azalea Park continues on June 11 with a performance by folk ensemble Joe Craven and the Sometimers. On June 24, The Piedmont Melody Makers will play a country and bluegrass set as part of the Pistol River Concert Series. On the festival scene, Bruce gives listeners dates and details about upcoming summer events, including the 7th Annual Pirates of the Pacific Festival and the Slammin’ Salmon Durby Labor Day bash.

Fundraisers abound during the month of June! On June 10, there will be a fireworks show fundraiser at the Chetco Grange, featuring hamburgers, rootbeer floats, and an open dance. On June 17, the Chetco Activity Center will host KCIW’s Kickoff Party, where community members can learn more about the station, meet and greet the radio hosts, sign up for memberships, and enter a raffle for a bed and breakfast getaway at the luxurious Lost Whale Inn in Trinidad, California.

Other upcoming events include the continuation of Chicago the musical at the Chetco Playhouse, a Rainbow Party at the Chetco Activity Center, ballroom dancing lessons at the Chetco Grange … and much, much more!

So sit back and – as Bruce puts it – let your ears do the walking.
