In this edition of The Insider Report, host Bruce Ellis shares the latest news on the Brookings-Harbor entertainment scene. It’s the first weekend in August, so it’s time for the annual Festival of Art in Stout Park. This annual event, sponsored by the Pelican Bay Arts Association, is located at Stout Park in Brookings. Festival vendors include artists, photography, jewelry, fiber art, woodworking, metal art, and more. There is no charge to attend and parking is free.

This week’s special guests are Dave Kuehn and Rod Anderson of the Oregon South Cost Fishermen, with an update on the summer fishing season. Look forward to some excellent ocean fishing in the coming weeks!

Other upcoming events include an Open Mic hosted by KCIW Radio on Saturday, August 3, from 12:00 to 3:00 PM at Stout Park during the Festival of the Arts; the monthly Live From Downtown Crescent City event on Friday, August 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, featuring live music, artisans, dancing, live performance art, book signings, food and beverage, vendors, and more; the annual Pirates of the Pacific Festival at the Port of Brookings Harbor, running from August 9 through 11 … and much, much more!

So sit back and – as Bruce puts it – let your ears do the walking.
