In this edition of The Insider Report, Bruce Ellis shares the latest news on the Brookings-Harbor entertainment scene. It’s the final weekend to catch Once Upon a Mattress at the Chetco Playhouse! Final performances will take place on Friday and Saturday evening, and will end with a Sunday matinee. This hilarious take on the story of The Princess on the Pea has delighted audiences of all ages since 1959.

Other upcoming events include a “Shop for Katie” fundraiser to benefit Katie Pettinger at the Brookings Event Center on June 22, a Veterans Appreciation Barbeque at the Curry County Resource Center in Brookings on Friday, June 22, live music from Johnny B. Connolly and Casey Neill at the Pistol River Friendship Hall on Saturday, June 30 … and much, much more!

The Rose City Kings are playing a free concert at Azalea Park on Sunday, June 17. The Rose City Kings are a Portland-based Blues-Rock and Americana group that have received accolades from Real Blues Magazine and the Cascade Blues Association.

Other upcoming events include a car wash and bake sale fundraiser for Katy Pettinger’s recovery fund at O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in Brookings on Saturday, June 16; a Community Poetry Slam at the Chetco Library on Saturday, June 16; a low-cost wellness clinic for pets at the South Coast Humane Society in Brookings on Saturday, June 16 … and much, much more!

In this edition of The Insider Report, Bruce Ellis shares the latest news on the Brookings-Harbor entertainment scene. On Sunday, May 6, KCIW is hosting the First Curry/Del Norte All-Star Jam Session at the Chetco Grange. This event takes place from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM and will feature barbecue, local craft beer, and performances from local musicians.

Other upcoming events on May 5 include a music equipment benefit sale for Stagelights at the Event Center in Brookings, a giant parking lot sale at Wild Rivers Antiques and Gifts in Harbor for Garage Sale Saturday, a Dancing With the Stars of Del Norte event at the Veterans Memorial Hall in Crescent City … and much, much more!

There will be a performance by the dynamic, acoustic Celtic band Molly’s Revenge on March 10 at 8:00 PM at the Pistol River Friendship Hall. Molly’s Revenge has performed at many of the top folk festivals and performing arts events in the United States, and prestigious events in Scotland, Australia, and China.

Other upcoming events and activities include a performance by the Irish vocal trio Socks in the Frying Pan show at the Crescent Elk Auditorium on March 14, a Veteran’s Monument Memorial Fundraiser in Crescent City on March 16, a “Look Like an Artist” workshop at Wright’s Custom Framing on March 24 … and much, much more!
