In this edition of The Insider Report, hosts Bruce Ellis and Kat Temple share the latest news on the Brookings-Harbor entertainment scene. This week, Bruce talks with special guest Helen Donahue of Soroptimist International of Brookings, who visited the studio to promote an upcoming donation drive on Saturday, February 22. The Soroptimists will be collecting donated items for their Fourteenth Annual Community Baby Shower, which will take place later in the spring.

Other upcoming events include a Pistol River River Concert Association performance by the two-time Grammy-nominated bluegrass group The Special Consensus on Saturday, February 22;  a music and dance performance by Barrio Manouche at Crescent Elk Middle School on Friday, February 21; a round of Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) free basic training classes at the Curry County Fairgrounds in Gold Beach beginning Friday, February 21; the launch of a seed library at the Chetco Library in Brookings on Saturday, February 22 … and much, much more!

In this edition of The Insider Report, hosts Bruce Ellis and Kat Temple share the latest news on the Brookings-Harbor entertainment scene. The Chetco Pelican Players are presenting two more weekends of the romantic comedy Almost, Maine at the Chetco Playhouse in Brookings from February 14 through February 23. 100% of ticket proceeds from the show’s Valentine’s Day performance on Friday, February 14 will benefit Oasis Advocacy & Shelter, a local women’s shelter and advocacy group for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Other upcoming Valentine’s Day events include a prime rib dinner special at Elk Valley Casino in Crescent City; a Billy Joel Tribute concert featuring Joel the Band at the Lucky 7 Casino in Smith River; a Jurassic Country concert at the Brookings Elks Lodge … and much, much more!

The Insider Report: Upcoming Activities and Events for February 4 – 10, 2020 … and Beyond

In this edition of The Insider Report, hosts Bruce Ellis and Kat Temple share the latest news on the Brookings-Harbor entertainment scene. The Brookings Harbor Friends of Music will host a concert by the St. Petersburg Piano Quartet on Sunday, February 9, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Brookings. This Grammy-nominated quartet has played in concert halls worldwide.

Kat and Bruce are joined by special guests David Kuehn of the Oregon South Coast Fishermen, with news about steelhead fishing in the Chetco River, and George Cady of the Brookings Harbor Friends of Music telling about the upcoming concert.

Other upcoming events include the opening night of the Chetco Pelican Players’ romantic comedy Almost, Maine, a series of loosely connected tales about love, with a touch of sorcery, in Brookings on Friday, February 7; a music workshop with the Kingston Trio Tribute Band at the Chetco Grange on Saturday, February 8; the final performances of the children’s musical The Fantastic Mr. Fox at Brookings Harbor Community Theater in Harbor on February 7-9 … and much, much more!
