The Insider Report: Upcoming Activities and Events for April 20 – 22, 2018 … and Beyond

In this edition of The Insider Report, Bruce Ellis shares the latest news on the Brookings-Harbor entertainment scene. The Chetco Pelican Players’ production of Athenry runs for two more weekends at the Chetco Playhouse. This historical drama, written and directed by local resident Val Cowan, focuses on a farming family’s challenges and triumphs in 1840’s Ireland. Showtimes are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM, with Sunday matinees at 2:00 PM.

Other upcoming events include a KCIW-hosted advertising workshop at the Chetco Library on April 19, a Nerf and Dance event for elementary-aged children at Kidz Zone in Brookings on April 20, low-cost wellness clinic for pets at South Coast Humane Society on April 21… and much, much more!

So sit back and – as Bruce puts it – let your ears do the walking.

The Insider Report: Upcoming Activities and Events for March 9 – 11, 2018 … and Beyond

In this edition of The Insider Report, Bruce Ellis shares the latest news on the Brookings-Harbor entertainment scene. There will be a performance by the dynamic, acoustic Celtic band Molly’s Revenge on March 10 at 8:00 PM at the Pistol River Friendship Hall. Molly’s Revenge has performed at many of the top folk festivals and performing arts events in the United States, and prestigious events in Scotland, Australia, and China.

Other upcoming events and activities include a performance by the Irish vocal trio Socks in the Frying Pan show at the Crescent Elk Auditorium on March 14, a Veteran’s Monument Memorial Fundraiser in Crescent City on March 16, a “Look Like an Artist” workshop at Wright’s Custom Framing on March 24 … and much, much more!

In this edition of The Insider Report, Bruce Ellis shares the latest news on the Brookings-Harbor entertainment scene. The Rowdy Creek Fish Hatchery Steelhead Derby is taking place from February 22 through February 24. Two teams take turns fishing the Chetco and Smith Rivers as part of the hatchery’s annual major fundraiser, which supports and celebrates our area’s fantastic natural fisheries.

Other upcoming events and activities include ballroom dance classes at the Chetco Grange on February 25; the final weekend of the thriller Deathtrap at the Chetco Playhouse on February 23, 24, and 25; the second annual Coastal Music Awards at the Brookings Elks Lodge on March 3 … and much, much more!
